I think you are trying to compare Star Wars to Star Citizen

You get a repair bot and perhaps you get the chance to paint a droid onto your ship

Proper repair would mean having chunks of metal in your cargo bay to seal up the hull breach. Droid would do what you would do, go out and make your hull look patched up where the bullet / laser holes were. Not to say they won't implement that.

Keep in mind that you can get on waiting lists for the limited ships, and the cash goes back to the game, rather than lining somebody's pocket for profit.

I'm still wait listed for an Idris M, but I hear that i'm getting close to the top.
