Starting positions?

I understand that we will have a 'HQ'. Are we going to set our Hangars near that, or is that different? What do we know / what are your intentions?

The general idea I have had is that we'll be conducting Project Pioneer in the beta so we can select starting hangars close to the place we want to set up our HQ.

Excuse my ignorance, been gone awhile from watching the SC development. Nothing we do in Beta will carry over I'm assuming. And is there going to be a limited number of hangers in an area (in otherwords... no one will have to live further away.)

Even if the progress doesn't carry over, It would be a good idea to familiarize ourselves and set up in a good location. Then when the game releases, we know where we're going and what we're doing, and can possibly call on allies to re-secure our holdings.

Funny I don't even remember posting that in this discussion. Any updates to this info in the last 13 months?

Not really, it seems that the galaxy map is full of information, but not letting us know which are starting areas or how good trade routes are as prices of items, let alone finalizing cargo capacities and fuel efficiencies, are not finalized. We'll choose our starting location once we've collected more information. I'll leave the decision to the panda bears.
