It is not a well known fact, but once being a "grey market" trader has its advantages.. - An upgrade (store credit purchased) can be merged with a giftable ship and retain it's giftable status.
What does this mean? You could use it to liquidate your account of RSI assets. For example, you buy a Aurora for $25 with paypal (it's giftable!) - you can then upgrade it all the way to a Hornet Tracker and gift it away. The other party could then melt the product down and purchase with it.
What does this mean? Well, if one of you guys has credit and is willing to loan Wave $25, you could flick him over $100 for his M50 if you agree to terms.
Another possibility is buying him for $30 the 325 to M50 upgrade (paypal). He could then simply buy that from you and apply it to his own 325 which he can buy from the store. What makes this all the more fascinating and schemable is working out how to get that delicious 2 year Hull insurance...
Hope that helps guys. I'm about to lose my contract, so it would be irresponsible for me to help others at the moment - but maybe this will enanable someone to help out Wave and Igax, both great guys!
And Igax - just an idea for you. Try putting up a [WTB] Carrack on starcitizen_trades. That place is swollen with do-gooders with too much cash, lol! You can ask someone to buy one for you - As long as you are prepared to pay the paypal fee, I'm sure someone would help you out if no one here can.
Another option is opening a service ticket, and saying if you melt a ship you have now (which you want), would they be so kind as to unmelt it for you later so you can participate in the sale. I'm telling you they will say yes (95% chance!).
