Upgrading my Lancer to a Dur for Panda Bear operations. The MIS is a pretty darn cool hull, too bad I need the dedicated deep space ops ship.

One thing to note about the MIS is that it's incorrect on the Stats page. It's missing it's Class 5 rear turret. However, it's listed as having the Class 5 in the brochure. And if you look at the MIS concept art, it clearly has the Class 5 rear turret. So I would surmise that it indeed does include a class 5.

So I was leaning towards trading in my F7C-M Super Hornet and getting the MIS. Thoughts?

I'd buy the MIS upgrade, but not apply it.
That way you can change your mind later and use that for a Connie upgrade

From flying in Arena Commander, I'm worried that fighters are going to be somewhat obsolete. They're extremely easy to kill. I think CR wants it to be like 1 missile and a few gun shots to take out a fighter.

That being said, I expect to only be using a single seater for large scale battles. They're just too squishy. Give me something with a class 5 power plant, some heavy shields, and a few turrets. I'll be perfectly happy in my Constellation combat variant letting someone else fly the Merlin. =)

Given that the single seaters seem a bit on the 'easy-to-murder' side, a MIS lancer would be an absolute death dealer at range. Give it a couple snub fighters for support and that thing is murdersome.
