For now I'll say Adam and Eves but would like to think it would be possible to have a little of column A and a little of column B
3. Any previous experience in flight/space sims.
Space sim: Played X3: Terran Conflict quite a bit.
Flight sim: Was a member of the Savage 77th squadron in Lock On: Modern Air Combat where I specialised in the Mig 23.
4. What your veteran backing/pledge status is and what ships you'll be starting with.
I have Original Backer status (although not sure that means anything anymore) and Vice Admiral pledge rank. I am currently the owner of a Cutlass and a Caterpillar.
5. Please provide at least 200 words telling us about you. We are a group of mature, like-minded individuals who are interested in enjoying our time in game -- we're looking to make sure that your membership with be beneficial to both parties.
My chosen alias, DYSEQTA, actually says a lot about me. It is pronounced die-seck-ta and is both a stylastion of the word dissector and also an acronym.
I am a creative soul and like nothing more than to let my imagination loose and express it in some way. More often than not that expression will be in the form of a product idea or design.
DYSEQTA was actually the name I gave to a physical musical interface I designed. The interface was primarily for live sequencing and sample slicing with a very customisable nature. The acronym was DYnamic SEQuencing with Tangible Architecture which covered the sequencing and customisation features and the reference to the word dissector covered the sample slicing aspects.
Despite having some skill when it comes to concepts and design I am severely deficient when it comes to taking an idea and making it a reality. Life it seems, has a sick sense of humour
Now the product may never have made it any further than a concept on paper but then name stuck with me. The theme of dissector and dissection resonated with me personally, as in addition to creation and design I equally love to analyse and take things apart to figure out how they work. Eventually I decided to adopt the name as an alias as I felt it represented me well. I still write it capitalised like an acronym simply because it looks better that way
So while you are all sitting there thinking “Cool story bro...*yawn*” there is actually a point to it all. If you think about everything I just told you, you really do have a pretty good picture of who I am as a person.
I am passionate, determined, and creative. I have a keen mind for good ideas but often lack the drive and attributes to implement them effectively. I am a realist and as such I don't do bull****. I say what I mean and I mean what I say. From time to time my often abrupt way of expressing myself can inadvertently offend and in such times I would simply ask those individuals to let me know that they didn't like the way I said a particular thing so I can learn and avoid doing so again. I am not perfect and I don't ever expect I will be.
I am looking for a good bunch of people to share my play time with. People who are relaxed and interested in having a good time collectively achieving rather than recreating their time in the military or living out some power hungry fantasy.
I have never really tried to roleplay in a game like this but used to play pen and paper DnD back in the day so am not a complete stranger to the idea of roleplaying.
I was attracted to CSC by Nubanator's description of the organisation and upon further reading/viewing of the material he provided I was further impressed and convinced that this is an organisation that I would feel comfortable in and one that I could contribute something to. I was particularly impressed by Nubanator's statement that CSC does not partake in griefing which is a pas time I find abhorrent to put it very mildly.
In conclusion I would like to say that I am a loyal individual that really expects nothing in return from an organisation other than that same loyalty returned and some good company.
